In 1972, President Richard Nixon wanted to outsmart the Russians by opening up a dialog with the Peoples Republic of China. The so called "Ping Pong diplomacy" started with harmless table tennis matches between the U.S. and China.
It gradually developed into diplomatic, cultural and economic exchanges. Soon, China was allowed trade relations, buying of assets and securities and exchange of intellectual resources. American companies and products were allowed access to the Chinese market with heavy restrictions.
We, being the good guys, agreed to the influx of Chinese manufactured goods with much less restrictions.
Over the years, American manufacturers have found it more economical to shift their plants to China, because of their cheap labor costs. According the U.S. trade data, total trade between the U.S. and the Peoples Republic of China grew from $5 billion in 1980 to $660 billion in 2018, with the U.S. trade deficit with China now at $419 billion.
In short, we buy way more goods from China than they do from us.
Since 2014, China has become the largest foreign buyer of U.S. residential real estate overtaking Canada.
China has been systematically buying our debt as well. Today, China is the second largest foreign purchaser of the U.S. Treasury Bonds after Japan. This has been methodically done over a period of time to have a leverage over the U.S.
We are deeply in debt with China.
China has also been consistently wooing the U.S. Politicians, Businesses, News Media and Academics.
Using their "Thousand Talents Program", the Chinese government enticed scientists to secretly bring U.S. knowledge and innovation to China. Once in China, many of their secret scientific and technical information was usurped. Based on FBI files, there are over 20,000 Chinese spies in Silicon Valley alone.
Our intellectual property is systematically stolen by China.
China has gradually increased its influence on national and international institutions like the United Nations, WHO, Federal, State and local governments, CDC, and major news media, . China has unscrupulously coerced many national and international leaders, countries and institutions. Even after the current Pandemic, the main stream media has done very little investigative reporting about China.
Some of our political, academic and journalistic leadership is co-opted by the Chinese government.
The threat posed by Chinese Government and the Chinese Communist Party to economic and national security of the United States is alarming. According to FBI Director Christopher Wray, "If you are an American adult, it is more likely than not that China has stolen your personal data".
In 2017, the Chinese military conspired to hack Equifax and confiscated sensitive personal information of over 150 million Americans (that is about half of the U.S. population). China has already stolen 25 million background files and 78 million medical records of U.S. citizens.
Our national and personal security is seriously compromised by China.
Even now, many National leaders are blind to this China threat.
When asked about this, Democrat Presidential Nominee Joe Biden said,
"China is going to eat our lunch? Come on man...They are not competition for us".
This is like Jimmy Hoffa saying in "The Irishman" movie, "They wouldn't dare".
The Chinese Government's goal is very clear. At this time, Chinese economy is the second largest in the world, behind only to the U.S.
The Peoples Republic of China is determined to make China the biggest economic and political power in the world.
They are willing to use any (illegitimate and clandestine) means necessary to obtain it.
They do not mind losing one eye, so long as they can infect both of ours.
According to the latest news, China's economy is bouncing back from the Covid-19 crisis and gaining ground on the U.S.
How to win world dominance without firing a single shot?
Ask the Peoples Republic of China.
Over the past forty years, I too have watched with growing alarm the growing dominance of Chinese products in the U.S. marketplace. I remember when I arrived in the U.S. for the first time, there were so many television brands that were proudly manufactured within our shores. Remember Zenith? A darned good TV set! Nowadays, one cannot find a single television set that is made in the U.S.! It is the same story with numerous other products - computers, mobile phones, sneakers - you name it. A country that gives away its manufacturing base to a foreign nation is headed for trouble. In that respect, India has done a much better job of keeping its manufacturing within its shor…
