What is in the name?

Nowadays, apparently, everything is.

What shall we call our football team in the Nation's Capital?

How do we replace the current deplorable name "xxx xxxxx"?

See I am being politically correct.

My first choice is "Washington Football Team".

This was already used by politically conscious TV announcers.

It is non-controversial, at least, until Football becomes a forbidden word.

Or, if you want to cut the losses, we can get rid of the first name "xxx".

Just call them "Washington Skins". Minimal logo change.

Even Dan Snider should like that!

After all, American Football is played with pig skin.

(Oops, I offended the animal rights people)

Also, how do you get the pig skin without killing a pig, or two?

Someone suggested the name "Washington Legends".

Considering the plight of the legends nowadays, I would not go there.

Washington Warriors? "Worriers" will be more appropriate.

"Senators", "Congressmen", "Bureaucrats" do not inspire anyone including themselves.

I know.

Let us do what we regularly do in Washington.
